The winery’s history begins in 1986, when the wine producer, Andreas, returned from his education in wine production to his village located in the foothills of the White Mountains called Alikambos.
At 330 meters altitude, the area has one of the lowest rainfalls in Greece, the soil is rich in active materials and there are many slopes facing south. Each vineyard has its own micro-climate, unique soil quality, and grape variety, all of which generate juice of distinctive quality, ideal for wines of character. His own vines are all organic and treated with respect and love for their natural environment. In addition to his own vineyards, it has been Andreas’ practice to also co-operate with dynamic young vine growers in the region.
The Syrah that Andreas produces is almost opaque and black in colour. It is full-bodied with intense aromas of blackberries, pepper and wild mountain herbs, with an exceptionally long finish and well-integrated oak flavors. Because the wine’s flavour is so bold, it holds up well to beef, lamb, fatty pork, game, goose, and even tuna steaks as well as food cooked with lots of back pepper or black olives.
